Project Description


  • Utilities provided City of Columbia
  • 5 ton Earthlinked system with desuperheater for portable hot water
  • Installation Year : Spring 2009
  • Building Size : approx. 2,800 sq. ft. historic home
  • Project included an extensive assessment of insulation values, air infiltration, control wiring that could make this gem of a historic house near Columbia, Mo. as energy efficient as possible.
  • Ground source system was installed in a newly insulated basement space.
  • (5) field loops were installed in a backyard space that had welcomed guests and visitors to this historic space since the days of stagecoaches.


RESULTS: Energy Analysis & Expected Performance


  • Energy savings, when compared to existing systems is remarkable
  • Energy savings, when compared with new conventional equipment, still results in a return of the extra ground source investment in fewer than 3 years
